It seems fitting that if you’re going to give an award that recognises contribution to the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the South of Tenerife that you should choose to give something that symbolises that very heritage, and that’s what CIT Sur (Centro de Iniciativas y Turismo) have done in choosing to give a Gánigos as their award to businesses and individuals in the south.

The GanigosThe Gánigos is a traditional Guanche handcrafted pot. Of course, once it’s on the mantelpiece it won’t stand out in quite the same way as, say, an Oscar but then equally, with only 40 awarded this year it’ll have far greater exclusivity than the Hollywood emblem, and it won’t need polishing.
